HOW TO MAKE LIDDED FORMS​

MUST BE CONFIDENT IN CENTRING - 

OVER TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKLY SESSIONS YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO CREATE  FUNCTIONAL AND AESTHETICALLY PLEASING LIDDED FORMS.

FOCUSSING ON REFINING YOUR WORK, WE WILL AIM TO IMPROVE HEIGHT & PRECISION STANDING YOU IN GOOD STEAD TO CRAFT LARGER, PRECISE WORK ON YOUR OWN.

This Class is Split across 2 consecutive weeks at the same time

please ensure you are available for both sessions -

DAY 1 - 2.5 hours 

 Focuses on throwing:

Shaping your vessel, establishing height & crafting a precise gallery for the lid to rest on. Guidance in precision, symmetry, opening up and pulling up sides.

The following Week

DAY 2 - 2.5 hours

Focusses on Turning:

Once the clay reaches a leather-hard state, you’ll return your piece to the wheel,

using sharp turning tools to trim away excess clay and refine the form. 

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a beautifully crafted lidded form.
